Robert Whittaker shares his pain of dieting in Paris

Robert Whittaker shared his pain while on his trip to Paris. So far, it's not going so well as he can't allow himself to eat anything besides a strict diet of foods, while he's surrounded by warm croissants slathered with butter. For his current diet, he could definitely be in less tempting cities than Paris. He shared that it's simply killing him to walk around and see pastry stores on every corner, while all he can grab is water.

However, at this job, the weight has to be cut to hit the scales at 84kg so he can be ready for Saturday when he will fight against middleweight rival Marvin Vettori in UFC's first event in Paris. Whittaker added that the smell of toast is everywhere you go.

„I think that the national smell of France is probably the smell of toast. It's really rough, especially for me as I'm a big bread fan and they have such great bread there, it's just unreal. This was a little trying but still, hungry is hungry. It's the same being hungry in France and in Camden.“ Whittaker has just entered the most challenging part of the diet, where he needs to cut salts from his diet. Sodium helps retain water in the body and he is currently trying to shed as much liquid from his frame as possible. So far, he is eating protein with healthy fats to keep the muscles going but everything is weighed on the scale and is really bland as he can't have any spices. However, after the fight, everything is back on the menu.
